Claire Marie

She entered our lives

and filled a place in

our hearts that we

never knew existed.

I was born Sunday, November 15th at 8:46am. I was a healthy baby at 7 pounds, 7.8 ounces and 19 3/4 inches long. My parents, Ben & Suzy, were very proud and excited to meet me. I was welcomed to the world with love by adoring family & friends.

My Mom & Dad chose my first name before they even knew I was a girl. Mommy had a pretty good idea I was a girl (in fact, she started referring to me as "she" & "her" before they found out!), but she didn't know for sure until  my first ultrasound when I was 16 weeks old. Before that, they'd spent weeks discussing names, but nothing seemed right. Then, one night, Daddy came home and asked Mommy, "What about Claire?". Mom said that the name just clicked for her - she felt chills when he said it. She knew immediately that was supposed to be my name.

After my parents had chosen my name, but before they'd shared it with anyone, Mommy had a curious conversation with Aunt Laura about naming her first baby (my cousin, "A"). She told Mom, there's a funny story about A's name - that wasn't always supposed to be her name. In fact, until Aunt Laura was about 7 months pregnant, my cousin's name was supposed to be "Claire". Mommy's jaw dropped! She didn't say anything to Aunt Laura at the time, but she couldn't believe that they had picked the same name! Aunt Laura later told Mommy that maybe the reason the name hadn't seemed right for her baby anymore was because my parents were supposed to have it for me. How nice! :)

Mommy & Daddy waited to meet me before choosing my middle name. Shortly after I was born, Daddy turned to Mommy in awe and amazement of my birth, and said that he thought I should have a part of my Mom in my name and should have the same middle name as her. How could Mom argue with that?!
